The Original Quest

The Original Quest

An astroshamanic journey into space and time

With Franco Santoro and Sverre Koxvold

Findhorn (Scotland), 14 - 20 June 2008

The Original Quest is a unique seven-day astroshamanic workshop aimed at expanding our multidimensional awareness in a resolute and penetrating way. Its aim is to provide a direct and experiential understanding of the many-sided of our nature as it is reflected both in the inner world and in the outer reality. During this workshop participants learn to experience a wide spectrum of shamanic and spiritual practices, integrated with a direct connection with the natural environment of Cluny Hill College (see image). Unlike other astroshamanic workshops this week focuses specifically on the outer territory, which is used as a geomantic sacred circle aimed at providing guidance and insights regarding our inner world. Cluny Hill College, the campus of the Findhorn Foundation, in Forres (Moray, Scotland), and its abundant natural resources are the traditional setting of the Original Quest, which this year is held for the eighth consecutive time, from 14 to 20 June 2008.

The workshop offers a pragmatic basic training in the use of the astroshamanic system of the 12 Sectors, the cartography of stellar circuits and other applications for spiritual healing and soul retrieval. It also covers the theme of parallel universes, time-space gateways, the multidimensionality of the physical territory, including the exploration of numerous aspects of esoteric and non-ordinary geography, also in relation with the Christian tradition.

The Original Quest investigates most ancient roots, unveiling connections with ancestors, releasing old blocks and wounds trapped in the inner and outer landscape, unfolding luminous potentials and promoting healing in the environment at all levels.

The programme includes: soul retrieval, time-space voyages, distant astroshamanic healing, trance dance, astroshamanic touch, sacred gardening, visionary walks, activation of multidimensional portals, advanced applications of the Basic Ritual of the Sacred Cone and other practices, which will develop spontaneously according to the motivations and visions of the participants.

During the Original Quest a relevant role is played by the astroshamanic map of Cluny Hill College. This map divides the territory of the campus of the Findhorn Foundation into 12 sectors. Each Sector occupies a portion of 30 degrees and corresponds to a zodiac sign. The Sectors move in a clockwise direction from Sector 1 (Aries), at the East point on the left, and then downwards to Sector 2 (Taurus), Sector 3 (Gemini), Sector 4 (Cancer) and all the remaining Sectors.

The programme is held by Franco Santoro, the originator of astroshamanism, and Sverre Koxvold, focaliser of Cluny Garden.

A detailed account on this workshops is given by MaryCatherine Burgess in her book New Paradigm of Spirituality and Religion: Contemporary Shamanic Practices in Scotland, recently published by Continuum,

Comments from participants:

This was a very unique workshop for me. I arrived knowing nothing about shamanism. I leave inspired, fulfilled and eager to learn and experience more.

I would like to affirm that this has been a mile-stone on my life’s journey.

I found this workshop to be a very special week of hear-felt sharing and intimate yet expansive exploration.

Incredibly deep, connecting with something that took me by surprise, a breakthrough that I can build upon.

This programme is second to none.
